Quatria Naval S.A., formerly Queiroz Galvão Naval S.A., was created in 2013 to meet the growing demand from the oil and gas industry, heated up by investments to explore the pre-salt in Brazil.

Since its creation, the company has owned and operated, in partnership with other companies, two shipyards: the Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS, in Ipojuca, Pernambuco), one of the most modern in the world, and the Honório Bicalho Shipyard (in the city of Rio Grande, in Rio Grande do Sul).
